Biography
Charlotte Mariën is a photographer based in Leuven, Belgium. After completing her degree in communication sciences, she pursued her passion for photography at LUCA School of Arts, Narafi, in Brussels. Her work has been featured in various exhibitions, including at the Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi.
Challenging reality is a central theme in Mariën’s work. She uses photography to transform her vivid ideas into shareable stories, aiming to reimagine imagination and foster receptiveness to the unfamiliar and the strange. This mindset, she believes, is essential not only in her photography but also in life, as it encourages the questioning of entrenched assumptions.
